World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrades allow players to increase the level of equippable weapons and armor. This improves the stats of that gear, as well as sometimes adding buffs or rerolling an affix.
It is important to remember that even though you can upgrade your magic and common equipment, it's generally not worth the cost. Rare and Unique gear will quickly outclass upgraded magic and common gear.
Cost
The player must pay gold to upgrade an item. The cost of upgrading an item depends on the item's current status and type of upgrade. For example upgrading a weapon will typically be cheaper than upgrading armor because weapons have lower level requirements. The amount of Gold needed increases as an item is upgraded.
The upgraded items will also have upgraded stats that will improve its performance in a variety of ways. This may include boosting its attack strength or critical strike chance. Additionally an upgraded item could be able to give additional buffs to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to increase the overall power of a group or unit, and can have a significant impact on the gameplay.
Any NPC that upgrades items can be located in the game. In general these NPCs are found in capital cities or major questing areas. Players can also locate item upgrade rs by visiting dungeons with high-level bosses and by talking to the NPCs in their garrisons of their faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system allows players to increase the level of weapons, armor and trinkets. This process is similar to reforging of gear in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However, instead of using currency, players have to visit an item upgrader to complete the process.
Upgrades can be costly particularly for weapons and armor. Depending on which upgrade track you choose, each item level increase can cost Crests or Valorstones. The costs can be prohibitive for players who don't have the money, or are unwilling to grind.
Fortunately the game allows players to roll an upgraded item using a special tool in the menu for items. This option will replace the upgraded item with the level 1 version which offers different bonuses. This can be useful to gain better results on items that are already upgraded. However, it can also be a waste.
Requirements
The process of upgrading items that are equippable like armor, weapons and trinkets is to raise the item level. This can boost their effectiveness, making them more powerful in battle. Players can upgrade their gear by paying the appropriate amount of currency at an upgrader. Players should be aware the fact that some upgrades require special requirements.
Initial upgrades only boost the stats of the base item by one level. Later upgrades provide more significant enhancements. For example upgrading a weapon from three to level six will increase the weapon's damage by two levels. A bonus stat will be added to the upgraded item based on the level. The bonus consists of a guaranteed substat as well as a randomly generated stat, which will vary from upgrade to upgrade.
Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item that has been upgraded. The new item will have a different set of extra bonuses and an lower base level. The rerolled item is also likely to have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to remember that the item rerolled will not be able to maintain its strength or use any wasted resources.
Some upgraded items are only able to be rerolled if the original item was Unique Epic, Rare, or Rare. Extraordinary items are also allowed to be rerolled, but their original stats will be replaced by a flat bonus. Rerolling a Rare item will result in a normal version of the same type, while rolling an Epic item will result in an elite version of the same kind.
A newly upgraded item could have extra modifiers, which could further boost its stats and enhance its performance. These additional modifiers aren't included in the upgrade price. They can be acquired by the questing process, purchasing them from the Trading Post or from other players. They can also be earned by fulfilling specific missions in the game.
To upgrade an equipment piece, you need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine. Depending on the type of item, you will require one or more Power Dices (Dice 6 is droppable from monsters 21+ and Giants while Dice 12 can be obtained from Bosses). You will also need various amounts of Minerals and Erons.

Time
Upgrades to items can be a great way to increase your gear and ship stats without the need to upgrade them. Upgrades aren't cheap but they can be an effective way to increase your stats and not have to spend so much time in battle. It's important to know the benefits and costs prior to making the investment of time or money.
Each upgrade boosts an item's base stat by a specific amount, and also gives a chance for a bonus stat increase. The extra substat is random and may range from a slight increase in one statistic to a much greater boost in another. It is best to concentrate on the top-performing items in your slot first, as they'll yield a higher return on your investment.
You can check the time required to complete an upgrade if you open your inventory and select an item such as a ship, weapon or other accessory. The upgrade window will display the expected completion time and progress. In certain situations, you might be able speed up the process of upgrading by applying an Glyph.
It is also possible to recover some or all upgrade components from an item using a special high-tier salvage kit that is sold by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. However, this does not include legendary equipment or upgrades that can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or returning them to the appropriate karma merchant.
Rewards
The upgrading of items provides players with money and a variety of items. Additionally, every upgrade can give a random stat bonus. The amount of bonus value varies between upgrades, and is usually higher for rare items. The Great Vault can be searched by players to determine whether an item is upgradeable. The search can also help determine if the item is of the appropriate level and if the player would benefit from a particular upgrade.
During the upgrade process an item will gradually grow closer to the next level, but won't always reach a fully upgraded bar. This process uses Growthstones and Sollant however there is the chance to achieve an item that is fully upgraded in only one cycle of growth. The more levels an item is upgraded to the higher its stat boost and the more items it is able to upgrade into.
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to gain an attribute bonus, or a special effect, when the equipment is worn. Certain upgrade components come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be acquired by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. Additionally players can find upgraded items by using an Upgrade Extractor, or salvaging them with a high-tier salvage kit. Glyphs that are positioned on tools for gathering can be freely swapped.
By selecting the item and pressing the green button, which has an arrow for rerolling players can roll it into an upgradeable item. This will change the layout of the item window and allow players to select up to six items to "recycle". The item that is recycled will be exchanged with an item at level 1 similar to it. Recycled items don't keep their level or the amount of resources needed to upgrade them.
The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by the item's tier and its quality. Common items can be upgraded to an maximum of level six while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels nine. The upgrades to an item are added to the item's base statistics, meaning that they do not increase after a specific point.
